Stress is a common problem faced by a lot of people, including the young ones. This can have negative physical and psychological effects such as sickness, depression, or, in the worst case, suicide. Recently, more and more youngsters are reported trying to end their lives because of stress. This essay will examine what triggers stress and possible solutions to help coping with this issue.
The main cause of stress is pressure and expectations from the surroundings such as family and school. Today's parents want their children to be successful so much that they enroll the youngsters into many kinds of courses such as English, music, dance, etc., sometimes without even considering whether or not the child wants to do it. At school, children spend their times learning various kinds of subjects and requires to do tests and homework. Therefore they have less time to play and relax.
This problem can be handled by first, lowering the pressure. Parents should stop expecting their children to be super in everything. It is important to give free time for the youngsters to play and socialize, as this is also vital for their development. The second solution is by reducing academic load at school. Children and teenagers should not be burdened with so many subjects and tests. Six subjects per day is enough and still give them time to rest and do other things.
To sum up, stress in young people can be lowered if parents and educators are willing to cooperate in creating safe and healthy environment where they are able to learn and develop happily . If this is done, hopefully, suicide rate can also be reduced.
